Bay Area Service League recently concluded a successful prom and military ball season, providing attire for 131 girls and 44 boys from partner school districts in Harris and Galveston Counties.
The young women received prom and military ball attire, including ball gowns and coordinated accessories such as shoes, handbags, jewelry, and silk corsages. Many members of our organization, along with volunteers from our community partner, the Bay Area Houston Alumnae Chapter-Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., assisted during the dressing hours, ensuring that each participant received individualized support.
The 44 young men, our Cinderfellas, were provided with prom attire that included a suit, a dress shirt, a bow tie, a standard tie, shoes, socks, and a matching boutonniere. This attire was gifted to them, allowing recipients to use the suit and accessories for graduation ceremonies and job interviews.
Operation Cinderella, a philanthropic program of the Bay Area Service League, ensures students who may not have access to such attire, can experience these important rites of passage.
