Alivia Newberry, Vice Chair Resource Development, will be entering her senior year at Clear Springs High School. She is actively involved in competitive art, the Technology Student Association, NASA HUNCH (High Schools United with NASA to Create Hardware), her school’s Women’s Empowerment Club, and several honor societies — including the National Spanish Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, and National Science Honor Society.

Outside of Bay Area Service Teens, Alivia volunteers at Space Center Houston and recently returned from the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program. In her free time, she enjoys sewing, drawing, and playing video games.

Her favorite philanthropic program is Project Snuggle, where she helps create comforting blankets for children entering shelters.

Alivia joined Bay Area Service Teens to get involved with her community and make a positive impact as a young person. She believes that even when it feels difficult to have a voice or create change as a teen, BAST provides meaningful opportunities to contribute to efforts that truly improve lives.

She became a leader because she deeply values the organization’s accomplishments and wants to help make those efforts possible in every way she can.
