Hunger Action Month is a nationwide initiative held each September, led by Feeding America and its network of food banks. The goal is to raise awareness of hunger in the United States and inspire people to take meaningful steps to address it. This campaign highlights the harsh reality many Americans face—choosing between essential needs like food and other critical expenses, such as medication or rent.
Bay Area Service Teens are addressing this urgent need through the Basic Kneads philanthropic program. Their efforts include collaborating with the Bay Area Service League on Snack Attack Packs, donating and volunteering at the Clear Lake Food Pantry and Interfaith Caring Ministries, and providing monthly support to the partnership between Saint Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church and the Galveston County Food Bank.
