Bay Area Service Teens marked its 30th anniversary on August 18, 2026, celebrating three decades of volunteer service. Since 1996, these teens have powered Bay Area Service League’s philanthropic programs, from annual fundraisers to creative projects like Assist-A-Child cards.

Since 2006, the teens have volunteered at the Resale Shop, continuing even after Hurricane Ike in 2010, and still help on weekends and in the summer. In 2021, the League and Service Teens launched Snack Attack Packs, delivering nutritious food to students during the school year.

The auxiliary has raised funds through car washes, loyalty card sales, and fun runs, and offered photos with Santa. Donors like 100 Women Who Care and the Mary Jane Carvel Foundation have supported programs for companion animals. Over 30 years, teens have assisted people of all ages and started programs like Bingo at the Terrace and Project FAMILY.

Today, the teens run impactful programs: Basic Kneads fights food insecurity, Birthday-in-a-Box brings party kits to at-risk students, and Cause for Paws supports animal shelters with volunteer time and adoption kits. They create mementos for children in shelters, cards for seniors, and blankets for kids in crisis.

Membership remains strong, with teens meeting service requirements each year and electing new leaders every March.

As Bay Area Service Teens celebrates 30 years, it continues to lead in community service, fundraising, and responding to local needs.
