Food insecurity is a troubling reality for many students in the Bay Area. This Hunger Action Month, we want to highlight the Snack Attack Packs program, which addresses hunger one student at a time.
On Sunday, September 13th, the Snack Attack Packs assembly took place as a collaborative effort between the Bay Area Service Teens and adult members of the Bay Area Service League. Together, they assembled packages that included a microwaveable meal, a salty snack, a sweet snack, and a drink. These packs are delivered to three partner school districts, where they are distributed to students in need of nutritional support outside of school hours.
Snack Attack Packs is the largest initiative of the teens’ program, Basic Kneads, which continues to make a significant impact in our community through donations and volunteer efforts.
