When it comes to proper nutrition, every bite counts.
Bay Area Service Teens are dedicated to supporting students facing food insecurity by providing nonperishable food items through the Basic Kneads philanthropic program.
Some students rely on the two meals provided by the school for their daily nutrition, while others need additional calories to get through the school day.
In collaboration with adult volunteers, snack bags are assembled monthly from August through May. Each bag includes a microwavable meal, a salty snack, a sweet snack, and a juice box.
These bags are delivered to personnel at Deer Park ISD, La Porte ISD, and Texas City ISD who ensure they reach students who need extra calories outside of school hours
