There is something quietly powerful about a handmade card.

It doesn’t need many words. It just needs to say, “I thought of you.” You are not forgotten.

That’s the purpose behind our Notes for Folks philanthropic program — where Bay Area Service Teens sit down with colored pencils and markers, to color cards delivered to residents at Discovery Village Clear Lake’s memory care facility.

Memory care residents live each day navigating a world that can feel uncertain and unfamiliar. Some moments fade. Some faces blur.
They may not remember receiving these cards.

But we will always remember making them.
