Summer Philanthropy Day: Bay Area Service Teens Ready Snack Attack Packs by School District

Snack Attack Packs play a key role in the Basic Kneads philanthropic program run by Bay Area Service Teens. This initiative relies on the dedication of two volunteer groups to provide a nutritional boost to 1,050 students in Deer Park ISD, La Porte ISD, and Texas City ISD who face food insecurity outside of school hours.

This month, volunteers gathered to prepare the packaging by labeling the snack sacks and organizing the necessary utensils, which are then placed in large Ziploc bags by school district. The first assembly, in collaboration with Bay Area Service League members, occurs in early August.

Why do we participate in this activity? Food insecurity can seriously impact children’s health, development, and academic success. It is essential to ensure that all children have access to adequate nutrition for their overall well-being and achievement.
