No Magic Wand Required: Literacy for Life Shares the Power of Reading at Trunk or Treat

No magic wand was needed to make a difference at Clear Lake United Methodist Church’s Trunk or Treat on Saturday, October 25th. Through Bay Area Service League®’s Literacy for Life philanthropic program, members shared the magic of reading by distributing books to young trick-or-treaters throughout the event.

Like students arriving at a certain famous school of wizardry, children were invited to discover stories filled with adventure, imagination, and possibilities. From page-turning tales to future favorites waiting to be uncovered, the books found new homes with eager readers ready to begin their own literary journeys. No enchanted spellbooks required, just the power of a good story.

By putting books directly into children’s hands, Bay Area Service League continues to encourage a love of reading and help open the door to learning.
